Breast Lift in Montreal: Correcting Sagging Breasts Without Implants

A breast lift, also known as mastopexy, is a surgical procedure designed to correct sagging breasts and improve their overall shape. Over time, gravity, pregnancy, breastfeeding, weight fluctuations, and the natural aging process can affect the firmness and position of the breasts. A breast lift helps raise the breasts, remove excess skin, and restore a more harmonious appearance to the silhouette. At Clinique Contour, Dr. Stephen C. Nicolaidis specializes in implant-free breast surgery, including breast lift, explantation, breast reduction, breast reconstruction, and fat transfer breast augmentation. Expertise developed through breast explant surgery Breast lift surgery plays an important role in Dr. Nicolaidis’ practice. His expertise has developed in parallel with breast explant surgery, which involves the removal of breast implants and their surrounding capsule. As of May 2026, he has performed more than 1,400 explant surgeries. Based on his large clinical experience, which has been presented at the American Society

Dr. Nicolaidis’ Perspective on Documentary

I just received a touching email from a colleague who had breast implants and now regrets it after seeing the documentary “Inoffensifs, mes implants?” which will be released tomorrow, December 1st. While the documentary IS EXCELLENT and important for better informing patients, I regret the fear it is ALREADY creating for many women who have implants but do not need them removed. Implants can still play a role in breast reconstruction after cancer, for example in thin women. The documentary’s point is that breast implants are not as safe as once thought. Patients must be told and understand the many risks—rare cancers, breast implant illness, capsular contracture, the fact that 10–20% require additional surgery, and that implants cannot be kept for a lifetime. If patients understand these risks and still choose implants, that is informed consent. I stopped having breast implants in 2021 because I didn’t want to risk harming

A simple pneumothorax

Dr. Nicolaidis has had 12 cases of pneumothorax in his first 1000 explants. Why did none of the patients require hospitalization or chest tube afterward? There are different types and causes of pneumothorax. A simple pneumothorax means that air has entered between the lung and the chest wall, which is not dangerous. This is what happened with Dr. Nicolaidis‘ 12 cases after a small hole developed in the pleura (plèvre in French) that surrounds the lungs, as the capsule was being peeled away from the rib cage. The danger occurs if air continues to enter the space between the lung and the chest wall, causing the lung to collapse. This is called tension pneumothorax. In the case of an explantation, a tension pneumothorax would require damage to the lung as well as the pleura. Although a hole can develop in the pleura as the capsule is peeled away from the
