MINOR Surgeries
Minor surgeries involve procedures done under local anesthesia, like “freezing” at the dentist. Such procedures can be done in an office setting, rather than a formal operating room, thereby lowering the cost for the patient.
Scar Revision $100 / cm
Scars following surgery or injury may become more apparent for numerous reasons : tension on the wound, repair technique, complicating infection or wound opening. Dr. Nicolaidis will examine the patient’s scars and give his recommendations. Such scars can often be significantly improved by cutting them out and then either reclosing in several layers (in order to minimize tension) or breaking up the scars with “zig-zag” incisions.
Surgery of the Ear Lobe $300-700 per ear
Simple tears of the ear lobes can be nicely repaired under local anesthesia.
Keloids of the ear lobe are often seen in people with darker skin following piercing; such keloids will often come back after their removal and can disfigure the entire lobule. Although no surgeon can guarantee that a keloid will not come back, Dr. Nicolaidis uses a combination of injections, excision, special dressings and sometimes radiotherapy in order to minimize the chances of recurrence and to recreate an attractive ear lobule, although smaller.
Lumps & Bumps
Removal of beauty marks, skin tags, lipomas and cysts that are not considered a danger for the patient is no longer covered by the government. But you can still have these removed privately under local anesthetic at our 1455 Montcalm location. Dr. Nicolaidis must first see the patient in consult in order to determine if the lesion poses any danger to the patient; however, there is no charge for these consults.
